Library Subscription eBooks



The RBdigital library is the eBook service available to Lancaster Veterans Memorial Library’s cardholders. Users can access fiction and non-fiction titles, magazines, and comics for adults and teens.

How to download the app: 

To access our eBooks collection, please download the free RBdigital app version that is compatible with your electronic device's platform:
Android OS: Google Play 
Apple iOS: iTunes 
Kindle: Amazon 

A desktop version of the app is available through the RBdigital website. You will need to download Adobe Digital Editions in order to access the RBdigital eBooks on your desktop computer. You will also need to download the desktop app for either Windows or Apple platforms. Navigate to the bottom of the RBdigital home page and click on the icon for Download Desktop Apps on the right side of the pane:



How to use the collection:

To use the RBdigital eBook collection, first create an account by visiting the RBdigital website. 
  • Select "Register" at the top right of the screen. 
  • Enter your library card number and the information for your new account.
  • Click "Register" at the bottom right to save this information. Now that you have created an account, you can login with the username and password that you created. Browse, checkout, and download titles. Ebook titles can be renewed once for an additional 14 days. They can also be returned manually prior to the due date using the Return button on the app. eBook titles that are checked out will disappear automatically from your queue after 14 days.

are also available from the library catalog. This method requires registration on the RBdigital website prior to checkout. Follow steps for registration above. After account setup, click on the blue Check out button and enter your Lancaster Veterans Memorial Library card number when prompted.

On the next prompt, enter your RBdigital credentials and click on the blue Check Out button: 


eBooks do not need to be returned, they will disappear from your RBdigital account queue after two weeks. To renew eBooks, simply re-check out the title after the two week loan period. 



 A collection of animated talking picture books. Users can access fiction and non-fiction eBooks in English and Spanish, as well as read-alongs (chapter books with sentence highlighting and narration but no animation), puzzles, and games. See library information desk for login information. 

TumbleBook Cloud Junior - A collection of videos and chapter books available as eBooks, read-alongs, graphic novels, videos (from National Geographic!), and audiobooks suitable for elementary grades. Our books feature adjustable text sizes, full narration, and a read-along function which highlights text as it is read. These features make TumbleBook Cloud a great tool for reluctant readers and ESL students. Plus, all these options can be switched to manual mode so that readers can read at their own pace. Free-eBook - Free registration required to view or download e-Books. Available in HTML, PDF, TXT. Download to iPhone & iPad for free (with some limitations).

Planet Publish - Over 50 selected classics from Aesop's Fables to Wuthering Heights. Available and downloadable in PDF format.

Planet eBook - Classic literature such as 1984, A Tale of Two Cities, The Great Gatsby, and Sense and Sensibility. Download in PDF format.

Bookshare - World's largest online library of accessible reading materials for people with print disabilities. Must provide proof of disability to qualify for free membership.

Manybooks - Download e-Books in 36 different languages, 23 different formats including PDF, Kindle, Newton, Plucker, SonyReader, and more. Keep track of books you've read or intend to read with free registration.

MobileRead - Free community forum and access to e-book downloads for registered users. 

MIT Shakespeare- The complete works of William Shakespeare.

Google Books- Preview or read certain books for free. Not all books are free to view. Downloading not available.

HathiTrust Digital Library - A collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world, including more than 500,000 books from the Benson Latin American Collection at the University of Texas at Austin.
