City Closing
The City of Lancaster will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025, in observance of the Independence Holiday.
4th of July Celebration - In Lancaster 2025 & 2027
When held in Lancaster, the 4th of July Celebration is hosted at Lancaster's Community Park (1700 Veterans Memorial Pkwy) and includes family fun, carnival-style food, bounce houses, face painting, games, live entertainment and an old fashion firework show at the Helen Giddings Amphitheater. The community is invited to bring some lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy this FREE event. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
Firework Safety
By City Ordinance, fireworks can only be used by licensed professionals. It is illegal to possess, sell or use fireworks within city limits. Violators could face fines up to $2,000.
4th of July Celebration - In Desoto 2026 & 2028
When the event is hosted by the City of DeSoto it is held at Grimes Park. The cities of Lancaster and DeSoto partner annually to celebrate the 4th of July!
