Join City of Lancaster staff for the second interactive Budget Town Hall Meeting designed to give citizens a welcomed opportunity to learn more about the FY 2015-2016 proposed budget. Civic Leadership Academy VII:
Beginning Thursday, September 17th
The City of Lancaster is now accepting applications for the 2015 Lancaster Civic Leadership Academy. This program is designed to give residents a “behind-the-scenes” look at City of Lancaster operations. This FREE 9-week program is hosted by various City departments each week. Classes are designed to allow participants to learn more about the functions of City departments and services.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and willing to commit to their attendance. Civic Leadership Academy is open for all Lancaster residents and City employees. Space for the academy is limited to 25 participants. Applications are still being accepted.
Classes will be held on Thursdays, from September 17, 2015 to November 5, 2015, lasting approximately two hours, and beginning at 6:30 p.m. Graduation will be held at the City Council Meeting on Monday, November 9, 2015. Fight The Bite:
Stay Protected Against West Nile Virus!
In the recent months, Dallas County Health and Human Services has had several mosquito trap in Lancaster that have tested positive for West Nile Virus. The City of Lancaster has coordinated with Dallas County Health and Human Services to conduct ground spraying for the reported areas.
City of Lancaster residents are provided free mosquito dunks at 700 E. Main Street and 211 N. Henry Street while supplies last. This product assists in mosquito control by killing mosquito larvae when applied to water sources. Did you know that Lancaster has implemented mandatory watering restrictions to two days a week? Specific assigned watering days are determined by your address. Residents are restricted from watering between 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Although, hand watering and using soaker hoses are permitted at any time.
