Civic Leadership Academy VII:
Our next Civic Leadership Academy class will be meeting on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. for the GRADUATION ceremony. The meeting will be held at City Hall located at 211 N. Henry St, Lancaster, 75146. Members of the 2015 Civic Leadership Academy will be recognized during a segment of the City Council Meeting.
Turkey Bowl Block Party & Pastors vs. Police Basketball Game:
The Thanksgiving holiday is quickly approaching and so are the festivities! The City of Lancaster and the Officer Craig L. Shaw Memorial Foundation present the 2015 Turkey Bowl Block Party & Pastors versus Police basketball game!
Come to the Meadowcreek Park, 901 Meadowcreek Dr on November 21, 2015 for this year’s Annual Turkey Bowl Block Party! The festivities will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the game!
Other activities will include: bounce houses, demonstrations, cheerleading competition, rock wall climbing, food and fun games. For more information, contact the Quality of Life and Cultural Services Department at (972) 218-3706.

Fight The Bite:
Stay Protected Against West Nile Virus!
In the recent months, Dallas County Health and Human Services has had several mosquito trap in Lancaster that have tested positive for West Nile Virus. The City of Lancaster has coordinated with Dallas County Health and Human Services to conduct ground spraying for the reported areas.
City of Lancaster residents are provided free mosquito dunks at 700 E. Main Street and 211 N. Henry Street while supplies last. This product assists in mosquito control by killing mosquito larvae when applied to water sources. Did you know that Lancaster has implemented mandatory watering restrictions to two days a week? Specific assigned watering days are determined by your address. Residents are restricted from watering between 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Although, hand watering and using soaker hoses are permitted at any time.
