Sorangel “Angie” Arenas joined the City of Lancaster in 2010 as the Community Relations Assistant. She was quickly promoted to the position of Assistant City Secretary. By January of 2014, she was promoted to City Secretary, a position she is both proud and honored to hold with the City of Lancaster. Recently, Angie had the honor to earn the distinction of being a certified municipal clerk.

She is a member of the Yellow Rose Chapter of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association, which represents 21 municipalities in Dallas, Tarrant, and Ellis counties.

Working in municipal government has afforded Angie the opportunity to have an impact on a local level. This element was missing from earlier job opportunities and Angie has taken advantage of this opportunity with fervor and zest.
