Public Engagement Committee
The Public Engagement Committee (PEC) is dedicated to fostering open communication and collaboration between the city government and its residents. The PEC plays a vital role in gathering public input, building trust, and enhancing community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Engagement Strategies: The PEC creates and implements strategies to increase public participation in city decision-making processes.
- Gather Community Feedback: The Committee collects and analyzes public input on city policies, programs, and services.
- Build Community Relationships: The PEC fosters partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and trust.
Committee Composition:
The PEC typically consists of seven (7) member, six (6) appointed by Council Member by district with one (1) appointed by the Mayor at large, all of whom shall be residents of the City of Lancaster. Members should represent a diverse cross-section of the community, including residents, business owners, and community organizations.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in community outreach or public relations
- Passion for civic engagement and public service
- Ability to facilitate group discussions and build consensus
Meetings and Terms:

- Terms: Members are appointed to staggered two (2) year terms.
