Proper Cart Placement
With our automated service, cart placement is extremely important to guarantee our trucks can access them for pickup on collection days. The mechanical arm on the garbage trucks needs to have clear access to your cart(s). Proper cart placement also ensures your cart(s) are not missed on your scheduled collection day.
Place your garbage and/or recycling in the cart(s) provided to you by Community Waste Disposal (CWD). Trash inside the gray cart and recycle inside the blue cart.
Set out your cart(s) by 7:00 am of your collection day and remove by 8:00 pm on the same day.
Allow 3ft clearance around the cart(s) with handle facing toward your property.
Do not overfill or place things outside of your cart(s). Lid must be closed.
Secure all trash in plastic bags.
If you have an excessive garbage on a continuous basis, you will be required to have an additional cart. Click HERE [http://lancaster-tx.com/1118/Order-Additional-Carts] to view the additional cart fee.

Zika Virus Precautions
Pregnant?
If you develop the symptoms of Zika, see a healthcare provider right away for testing. Testing is recommended for pregnant women at their first prenatal care visit.
Your Best Protection: Prevent Mosquito Bites
Clothing: Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants. Treat clothing and gear with permethrin or purchase permethrin-treated items.
Treated clothing remains protective after multiple washings. If treating items yourself, follow the product instructions carefully.
Do NOT use permethrin products directly on skin. They are intended to treat clothing.
Indoor Protection:
Stay in places with air conditioning or that use window and door screens to keep mosquitoes outside. Sleep under a mosquito bed net if air conditioned or screened rooms are not available or if sleeping outdoors.
Repellent:
Use Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)- registered insect repellents. When used as directed, these insect repellents are safe and effective for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Residents can pick up mosquito dunks and repellents at City Hall or at 700 E. Main St.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention
•The best way to protect stormwater runoff quality is to avoid polluting in the first place. Conserve and recycle resources such as newspaper, plastic containers, glass jars, and metal cans.
•Practice street sweeping, picking up litter, and disposing of leaves and yard waste.
•Keep grass clippings, leaves, lawn care, automotive and household’s chemicals out of the storm drain system. Participate in local garbage and debris pickup days; recycle household’s hazardous waste materials to prevent storm drain contamination.
•Prevent sewage overflows to the streams by diverting drains away from the sanitary sewer system. Report any overflows to the Wastewater Department at 972-275-1752.
