Lancaster State Auxiliary Museum Advisory Board

The Lancaster State Auxiliary Museum Advisory Board (LSAMB) serves as a vital liaison between the community and the Lancaster State Auxiliary Museum. Its primary role is to provide guidance and recommendations to the City Council on matters related to the museum's operations, exhibits, and overall development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the City Council: The LSAMB offers recommendations to the City Council on museum policies, programs, and exhibits.
  • Promote Public Interest: The Board works to increase public awareness and engagement with the museum.
  • Facilitate Community Input: The LSAMB serves as a conduit for community feedback and suggestions regarding the museum's offerings.

Board Composition:

The LSAMB consists of five (5) regular members and one (1) alternate member, all appointed by the City Council. Members are expected to be residents of Lancaster and demonstrate a keen interest in history and museum operations.

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of museum operations or historical preservation
  • Experience in community outreach or volunteer management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for local history and cultural heritage

Meetings and Terms:
