The Lancaster Economic Development Corporation (EDC) plays a vital role in attracting and retaining businesses, fostering economic growth, and creating jobs within our community. Established as a Type A EDC under the Texas Local Government Code, the EDC works in partnership with the City Council to develop and implement strategic economic development initiatives. The EDC is committed to:
- Promoting business development and investment in Lancaster.
- Facilitating job creation and economic opportunities for residents.
- Supporting the expansion and retention of existing businesses.
- Revitalizing key commercial districts within the city.
Board Composition:
The EDC is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five (5) members (no alternate members) are appointed by the City Council. The Board shall appoint at a minimum, a president and a secretary, and such other officers as needed.
Meetings/Terms:
The Economic Development Corporation (Type A) typically meets two times a year and as needed on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meeting agendas are available online [Agenda and Minutes | Lancaster, TX - Official Website (lancaster-tx.com)].
- Terms: Members are appointed to staggered three-year terms.
