The Texas House and Senate committees will hold hearings Monday March 27, 2023 on the statewide electrical blackouts during last week's weather event.  Residents can submit comments by clicking the links below.

Homeowners Protect Yourselves!

Many residents are not aware that a permit and inspection is required for plumbing-related repairs. 

Do I need a permit to have my plumbing repaired?  YES

Will City Inspectors check my plumbers work?  YES

Will there be a fee for the permit and inspection?  NO

All permitting fees are currently being waived (for a limited time) for plumbing-related repairs due to the winter storms.

Winter Storm Damage Survey:

The State of Texas has created a survey to report any damage you’ve experienced due to the unprecedented winter storms. Damages can include HVAC system failure, frozen or damaged pipes, roof damage, etc. The purpose of this survey is to report damages to the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and not to the city.warm-qr-graphic-2-4_crop

Replacement SNAP Benefits: Residents can request their replacement food benefits by dialing 2-1-1 and selecting option 2 until March 31 to report SNAP food loss. Alternately, recipients can download Form H1855 (Affidavit for Nonreceipt or Destroyed Food Stamp Benefits https://hhs.texas.gov/laws-regulations/forms/1000-1999/form-h1855-affidavit-nonreceipt-or-destroyed-food-stamp-benefits) on the HHSC website. To limit exposure to COVID-19, recipients are encouraged to mail or fax the completed form to HHSC instead of visiting their local offices. Completed forms should be mailed to Texas Health and Human Services Commission, PO Box 149027, Austin, TX, 78714-9027, or faxed to 1-877-447-2839. For more information, please visit hhs.texas.gov.
